Brief: Activating the backyard for a young family with 3 boys. Steep inner-city site, the yard falls away steeply from the house. The proposal introduces a new lower floor with the living zone migrating down to the 'floor' on the site. Void over dining to combine levels and produce two-storey scale glazed view into the backyard and frame the jacaranda. Add a new master bedroom & outdoor living 'hide', a raised openable box nestled into the tree tops. Music rehersal box planned as a visited room within the backyard.
