Seaforth House
2007
The Seaforth Beach House project involved the recycling of an existing fisherman’s cottage, owned and occupied previously by the client’s father.
Issued with a modest budget to build a beachside residence, the strategy was formed on the retention and reuse of the existing house, and the addition of a stand-alone two storey tower element as a counterpoint.
A suspended steel framed deck links the old and new elements, and acts as a gateway to the retained north-east courtyard at ground level, and an entry point to the upper plan.
