Willandra Lake Keeping Place

A limited invitation competition to provide the 3 peoples (ttg's) of Paakindji, Muthi Muthi and Ngyampaa the design for a 'cultural keeping place' located within the World Heritage Area of Willandra Lakes.

Phorm partnered the renowned office of Paul Memmott and Associates p/l in the submission. The project investigated ideas of placemaking and occupation in a remote, stand-alone environment. A layered program listed the technical requirements for conservation science laboratories and culturally acute needs of three interconnected communities.

The buildiing was designed to become a centric place within the physical and cultural landscape containing both secular and the sacred.
