Elysium House 1
Current
(Lot 30)
This project imagined a reconstructed landscape as a precursor to built form.
Placement of the outdoor room in the optimal location for orientation and aspect have taken priority within the plan.
The residential program is folded around the edges to construct the courtyard and manage privacy.
Ultimately, the deck is understood as a 'bridge' or 'threshold' between the two halves of the house and two complimentry landscapes – one a formal pool court, the other, as an unrestricted 'noosa flora'.
The informality of the house refers back to the days of beach weekends hidden in the dunes.
