Cape Upstart House
Current
A project driven by the limitations and opportunities inherent in a “barge-in” access site – one which is seasonally cut off from the mainland.
The clients’ maintenance-free situation, self-sustainability and materiality were the only prerequisites.
The construction system allows for single-day erection of the principal frame.
Prefabricated elements are inserted at a later date.
Materials: hot dipped galvanised steel, polystyrine-filled fridge panel, recycled milk containers.
