The Oasis will be the first centre of it’s kind, providing support services to ex ADF personnel as they transition out of the defence force. This project includes extensive site and space planning to make best use of an existing building (1500m2), and adapt to suit the intended new use. We have proposed a number of additional buildings to be constructed on the site to create a campus style environment. This project intertwines administration, and formal support services with social and recreational type activities to promote mental and physical wellbeing and a sense of purpose for clients and their families as they adjust to life outside of the defence force. Landscape plays a key role in providing a relaxed and inviting environment that embraces the tropical climate. The building has deliberately been broken down into smaller elements to provide a human scale across the site that is sympathetic to the surrounding suburban context. Pathways and view lines further reinforce the connection to, and integration with the local neighbourhood.

The OASIS Hub is a joint State and Federal Government funded project.
